Regarding the assertion that a playoff is needed for the "true champion to be determined on the field": the last time I looked, the #1 and #2 teams are playing tonight on a field in Miami. Seems like the winner of a contest between the #1 and #2 teams will be the legitimate "on the field" champion. I'm not sure why we need to complicate the process.
