I must say I think Obama handled this one perfectly. He worked behind the scenes and gave the military the go ahead to do its job. I think it would be hard for anyone, regardless or political leanings, to find fault with how this played out. I also want to give 2 thumbs up to the Navy Seals who did their job exceptionally well.

So the underlying question still remains- How do you crack down on piracy and identify pirate ships from fishing ships, especially when they are still in port? As long as Somalia is lawless then this problem will continue. We can't depend on the UN for anything useful and the more we do things by ourselves the more criticism we will receive. Perhaps we just aggressively protect our own vessels and let the other ones fend for themselves with their weak governments.
