ife still claims that the BGE she gave me for Fathers Day back 4 or 5 years ago is the best investment she's ever made. Yes you do want to pick up the "plate sitter" for indirect. I also find the Pizza Stone and Rib Rack to be usefull; the rack will sit in an pan to catch all those juices when doing a bone-in Prime Rib, the simplest meat to cook in the BGE. You'll find your way, and have a blast doing it. I've discovered that going the cheap route on the "lump charcoal does you and your experience little favor, but there are brands out there cheaper than BGE brand that can cook even and not consist of 2x4 planks.
