Actually some have. LSU and Florida trail in total wins because they play in the SEC which has 6 contenders year-in and year-out.

"simply put" total wins:

1. Oklahoma = 102-19 for .843
2. Texas = 96-18 for .842
3. USC = 93-22 for .808
4. Ohio St. = 91-23 for .798
5. LSU = 90-27 for .769
6. Florida = 87-29 for .750
7. Miami = 83-29 for .741

"simply put" bowl wins:

1. LSU = 7-2 for .777
2. Texas = 62 for .750
3. USC = 6-2 for .750
4. Miami = 6-3 for .666
5. Oklahoma = 4-5 for .444
6. Florida = 4-5 for .444
7. Ohio State = 4-5 . 444

"simply put" BCS bowl wins

1. LSU = 4-0 for 1.000
2. Texas = 3-0 for 1.000
3. USC = 6-1 for .857
4. Florida = 4-1 for .800
5. Miami = 3-1 for .750
6. Ohio State = 4-3 for .571
7. Oklahoma = 2-5 for .286

"simply put" BCS National Championships

1. LSU = 2-0 for 1.000
2. Florida = 2-0 for 1.000
3. Texas = 1-0 for 1.000
4. Miami = 1-1 for .500
5. USC = 1-1 for .500
6. Ohio State = 1-2 for .333
7. Oklahoma = 1-3 for .250
Great job. As I had posted earlier, a strong case could be made for LSU to be number 1 at this point, though they will never get it unless they won the NC this year. They have charisma too.

Another interesting point shown by your numbers: the myth that there will never be dominant teams like the 60s, 70s with Bama, OU, Neb, et al., is debunked. Note that of the 18 appearances in the BCS Champ game, 16 are from the 7 you list, the other 2 not being slouches: Neb and FSU. The more things change, the more they remain the same; just a few new faces. Bama is reclaiming a spot, Neb is trying, Miami is gone, LSU has likely slipped though not necessarily gone, OSU is like Neb of the 80s and early 90s, etc.
