- based, of course, on a highly scientific poll of 12 people walking around a well known tourist mecca, and asked the simple question of whether or not they know Steve Spurrier.

These people weren't walking around in a tourist mecca, they were employees in different stores and I just picked them at random. In 3 weeks I will go to Florida and I bet at least 50% of the people I ask if they know of a guy named urban meyer will reply with an affirmative. wanna bet? I'll put up my tickets to Bama-Ole Sis against your tickets to any team that plays Bama in 09.
Not even close to a fair bet. Urban Meyer has won 2 out of the last three national titles while Spurrier's best season at USC was his first one. Dude hasn't broken 7 wins. Who is in the news more? If believing that people in SC don't follow football seriously makes you feel better, go right ahead. Don't know why you would ask the question though.
