If that incident was truly the reason Franklin was pulled from ESPN's primetime coverage, then that's beyond idiotic. I may be among the few who didn't really mind Mike Patrick in that role -- but I thought Patrick was much better suited to calling NFL games than college football. Franklin was a natural replacement to Keith Jackson as the dean of college football announcers -- pulling him was just another bone-headed programming decision by those idiots in Bristol.

Speaking of bone-headed, I'm having trouble seeing how Matt Millen providing color on college football broadcasts is going to end well.
