The guard is supposed to help out on the DE. As the RT applies pressure and pushes the DE to the outside, his responsibility is to pick up if the DE slips inside or to assist in the push to take him completely out of the play if the DE goes to the outside. Marlon Davis pushed Capps instead of pushing Groves (rookie mistake).

Either way, Capps technique was horrible!!!!
I agree with PalmBayBama--that was strictly on Capps. He didn't get outside quickly enough to allow Davis to help. If the guard is going to help, the OT cannot get beat to outside.
