UNO 3/18

Going to the bottom of the third, UNO leads 3-1.

Bama already has three errors (two for Rutledge, one for Kebodeaux).

Chalk up yet another balk, too.

Mike Sharp RBI accounted for Bama's run.

Re: UNO 3/18

I've seen Auburn play a lot this year. I hate to say this, but we may give them a heck of a battle for last place. Heck, I just hope we put up a fight when we play them. They're bad, but they may not be this bad. I would say we MIGHT could out coach them, but...

Re: UNO 3/18

Most of you guys know who I am on the baseball board, here is my opinion on a few things:

I know you guys are upset at this years team (to be mild ), but this problem with balks isn't completely blamable on this years coaching staff, granted a pitching coach would be very useful (I'm available, if we are that desperate), but knowing what is a balk and what isn't should have been learned in high school. As far as our other deficencies (sp.), blame can be scattered all around I'm sure, but as others have said, players can and do read these boards so keep that in mind when posting. Now, should they by big enough to forget things said about them, sure, but they shouldn't have to do that from there own fans.

It just seems reaaaallllly negative on here now, well, actually the most negative I have ever seen it, other than the basketball board is now.

Just my 2-cents worth, flame away now.

Re: UNO 3/18

The previous high for balks in a season in the Wells era was 15 in 66 games in 2002. Right now, we've got 12 in 17 games. Very bizarre.

Well , at least we're on pace for about 35 more .

Re: UNO 3/18

I assume we lost the game. The livestats stopped in the 8th.

I'd like to see a change in the middle infield. I'm not giving up on Rutledge and Wilson at all, but maybe they need a game or two off. Not doing much at the top of the order and obviously too many errors.

Seemed like the lower part of the order tried to give us some offense. They'd get something started and then when we turned our lineup over, we couldn't get a clutch hit. Bases loaded twice with only one run scoring.

Re: UNO 3/18

Rutledge needs to DH. Wilson needs a few games off. Texada needs to be the SS.

Damn, this is going to be the worst team ever. And MalFunction Moore won't make a change.

Nice pull . I haven't heard that one in at least 15 years .

Re: UNO 3/18

I thought I would take the wife and the kid out with me to the Joe with it being Spring break. Nice weather for the 150 mile roundtrip from Morris Al. I usually make for all the home games. This might get long and I may ramble a bit just bear with me. After watching at least 3 errors that were put on the board not to mention mental errors and so on. Two balks, a ball fall between three players looking at one another with a look like they have just struckout looking at the plate like three other guys on our club had just done. Get cut to pieces buy a guy thowing a lollypop curb who's ERA was in the Eleven's was even a shock for me. Bear with me lets go back to Sunday I'm listening to the game on the radio and my wife yells at me for cursing at the radio after one of the many walks in the game. She make's a couple games a year and has been around the game somewhat. In the 8th inning when our pitcher for some reason does not cover first on a play she says "what is he thinking about" and looks very disgusted. On the way out as we are walking out the gate she looks at me and says that was really bad. What really is bad is when the coach come's out to chew the umpire out after the 2nd balk. What a joke, teach them how to pitch. So on my way home I have time to reflect on what is wrong. Mal and Jim combined has Mike Dubosed our baseball program back to the stoneage. So what might we do to make this a better situation? I don't know. Maybe since the "rejuvenated" Jim Wells quit and came back so quick. He could resign again and maybe lets get Mitch to try clean up this crap. Let him have a shot at it. 9-9 we are not going anywhere and Hoover is a stretch and no Ncaa's again. If Jim dosen't want to give up it is time for Dr.Witt to step up and make the Ad do someting to get this train back on the track. Better yet make a change at the Ad spot. For a second last night I thought I was up the street at Coleman watching a team that totally unprepared. On a more serious note it was great to see BJ Green back at the Joe last night.
