J. Smith

Either I have not been paying attention or missed the news somewhere, but he is out for the year. Got messed up ligaments on both sides of his ankle. Hope he can come back from this stronger. Hate it for him.

So, that IMO should put him back in crimson next year. I think it would be hard for a MLB team to take a high pick on him. Maybe 15-20 round, but if I was him, I would come back and make that a top 5 round pick. JMHO FWIW.

Agree. I really hate it for Jake, but selfishly I do think it will mean he is back next year.

Re: J. Smith

Dang, I had not seen nor heard that either. Last I had heard was from Barry Allen stating that he could possibly return by regionals if he responded well to treatment. Granted this was the day after he got hurt, but was the last info I had seen anywhere regarding his status. We could haved used his bat, and glove. Hopefully there will not be surgery involved and we get him back for next year.

Edit: I found the announcement on rolltide.com at the end of the article on the loss to LSU. States Jake will be in a cast for three to six weeks. Heck, no one reads those things after a loss.
