Summer Ball

Share

Has anyone heard of any of our players going away to play summer ball. I saw where wilson and rutledge are headed to the Cape Code league again this summer, with Wilson playing for the Harwich Mariners and Rutledge for Yarmouth Red Sox. Didn't know if any of our other players were doing anything.

Personnaly, Im kind a surprised Dugas isn't in the cape league.

Re: Summer Ball

I'm sure most of them will go play somewhere. We need some pitchers to go play and get some experience for next year as starters.

Re: Summer Ball

Wilson was invited to try out for Team USA, so he'll only be reporting to the Cape if he doesn't make the final 22-man roster. Considering his competition in the infield among the other invitees, he should be an obvious choice to make the cut.

Clay Jones and Austin Evans are with the Vermont Mountaineers of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Through eight games, Jones is hitting .304/.407/.478 with a homer, while Evans has worked 4.2 innings while walking 5 and striking out 6.

Taylor Dugas is with the Thomasville Hi-Toms of the Coastal Plain League.
