Baseball America 2010 projection

Share

*For whatever it's worth (probably not much), Baseball America recently released it's initial "Eight for Omaha" projection for next year. No, we aren't among the eight, but we did merit consideration. The eight favorites were LSU, Cal State Fullerton, Texas, Virginia, Florida, Rice, Georgia Tech, and Florida State. The second group of "eight to follow" included: Georgia, Arkansas, Clemson, Oregon State, San Diego, South Carolina, UCLA, and Miami. The "eight sleepers": Alabama, Arizona State, Coastal Carolina, Kansas, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and Michigan.

*Noticeable omissions? Ole Miss, for one. While 2010 figures to be something of a rebuilding year in Oxford, there's still plenty of talent (Pomeranz, etc.) for the Rebs to put up a fight in the conference. On the other hand, it really doesn't matter anyway given their penchant for choking in the postseason on an annual basis.
