Eligibility to Leave College for Pros?

Share

What is the rule for a college player to be able to leave college? After their junior year once they have entered a college program?

Re: Eligibility to Leave College for Pros?

If they go D1 they have to wait 3 years to be draft eligible I believe. JUCO and they are eligible for next draft (don't have a wait period).

Also, a player is draft eligible once he reaches a certain age even if he hasn't been at a D-1 school for 3 years (see Tommy Hunter).

That age would be 21, or if your 21st birthday is within a certain time frame after the draft. I'm not sure when that would be.

You must have thought it was going to be useful at some point in time. BTW Taught my boy to throw a knucklecurvesliderscrewball today. Absolutely nasty pitch. Seriously it starts off with no rotation, starts to break down 12-6 then slides off the table away from a righty, than at the last second it snaps down and in to a righty. Oh yea, did I mention he is ambidextrous? He just turned 2 weeks old today (Fri.) btw.

I can't throw him batting practice anymore and he was just killing the machine (97 wasn't hard enough), so use a .270 and shoot targets in the strike zone from 16 feet away. He uses wood bats so that I don't get hit by a ricochet. the kid is amazing....
