Re: IOC passes on baseball and softball again for 2016 Olympics

I guess they waited this long so that Tiger would be just old enough to play (around 40 by then) but probably not compete with the young uns. They know if they make it a sport now that he'll win it...assuming he approaches it like a major.

I guess softball ran the gauntlet for so long and we were going to get around to send the big boys to play summer ball, they decided to try and find 2 other sports that we might not medal in.... I mean rugby....come on.

Re: IOC passes on baseball and softball again for 2016 Olympics

"In the end, the decision came down to which two would add the most value," IOC president Jacques Rogge said. "Golf and rugby will be a great addition to the games. ... They have global appeal, a geographically diverse lineup of top iconic athletes and an ethic that stresses fair play."
So, baseball and softball don't stress fair play....figures....just like a frenchman....

I sure hope the iconic athletes phrase is referring to golf. Can anyone name an "iconic" rugby player?

And secondly, I hope next time we just leave the French alone to speak German for a generation or two.
