Weekend scrimmage

Anyone have any reports on the scrimmages this weekend?? Hope no one else was injuried.

You beat me to it. I had just logged on this morning to ask the same question. I was going to go to the scrimmage on Saturday, but things didn't work out as planned.

Well......

Hendricks -plate and screws - scheduled back in Jan
Taylor - dislocated knee cap, unknown prog
Myers - Ligament damage foot, still evaluating course of tx
Collins - broken knee cap from his own foul ball, unknown prog
Miller - ankle still healing

I guess this is the year of the legs! Last year they all had slings! Kubal played OF to give us enough to play the scrimmage game

The bats looked great Sat (Jones is a great hitter anyway, but really had a good day - Let's hope he goes "Matthes" on us this spring and makes some money!). Pitching looked like it was coming along. Some freshmen looked promising (esp. Taylor Wolfe) - Morgan had one great inning and they hit him the next. Catching drills afterward were grueling! Definitely some disparity in that group. Didn't go to the game on Sunday.

All the guys seemed to be relaxed and happy to be there. Coaches were talking and coaching and laughing. Good long team meeting afterward on the mound. Really looking forward to the spring!

There were about 60 people in the stands. I was a little disappointed, as there were only 200,000 on campus and not a single bit of media or music or anything to draw those who were tailgating just outside the stadium. Who knows, maybe they didn't want spectators, but I thought this was touted as part of the homecoming festivities. Could have done more to support the guys - JMHO
