Question for Bball experts

Share

Why do teams always seem to shoot the three well against us? Is it luck or is just lack of perimeter defense or both. Vanderbilt seems to do it to us every year as does florida. They just sink us with three pointers. Why does this happen to the tide so often?

It's a risk you take when you run a zone defense. Sparks just went crazy, there was no defending that.

It's simple, we just get beat to the spot. I bet 95% of the 3's hit on us they have been wide open. I cant comment on yesterday's game cuz I didnt get to see it.

It was pretty much the same...

Shelton just doesn't have the foot-speed to get there. That said, Sparks just went crazy. I'd hate to see the average distance from the three-point line, but I'd bet it'd average four feet. Felix could have covered better, but I'm not sure it would have been enough...

Alabama is 10th in the SEC in 3-point Field Goal Percetage Defense. It appears to me that Alabama's zone defense sometimes covers the 3-pt. shot better than the man-to-man defense. In the zone, defenders will move to the wings quickly and don't seem to be as concerned about the offensive player driving to the basket knowing that there should be help. In the man-to-man, defenders will respect the drive and will also get screened off of the ball or the shooter as he moves out to the wing.

Well, partially because Mario Moore, Sparks, Matt Walsh, Tack Minor all had career type games against Bama had something to do with it, i'm sure.....

One thing they all have in common is that Steele and Shelton get picked off really easy...........and they aren't getting the help from each other, Chuck or Kennedy like they should......

But........it's not like its an epidemic..........we are holding our opponents to really low shooting %'s overall.......so, i'm not too conerned.

We are at least a sweet 16 team.......maybe elite 8, if we get the right matchup. Chuck is coming alive again, and if we can keep KW from turning into Mo Williams or Hollywood Robinson, and get Shelton some confidence back, we might run to the round of 4.

Keep the faith folks!
