Note Let's Look at the last 7 games.....

Share

Feb 14 Tennessee W 83-70
Feb 18 Vanderbilt L 67-70
Feb 21 @ Mississippi St W 77-73
Feb 24 @ Auburn W 72-71
Feb 28 Mississippi W 84-69
Mar 3 @ Arkansas W 72-68 OT
Mar 6 Mississippi St L 81-82 OT

Two things to notice.......the two games we lost, we should have won.........and in games against Vanderbilt and Arkansas we came from WAY WAY WAY back.....and we pulled off one, and should have beaten Vandy.....that coupled with the fact we should have beaten USC two games earlier......that means in the last 10 games, outside of UK, we should have won the other 9......

We fell short on 3 of them.......but I feel like we will compete up or down with anyone in the country......

We need to stick it to UT early, and don't let up.....not for a second.....let Rambo, Demetrius get some minutes, but we can't stop the Defense, we have to push the tempo, and blow these bad boys out.....early!

Note

Good analysis! One of the things I notice is that this team plays a lot of very close games, where the scoring margin comes down to one or two successful possessions (5 of the 7 games you list).

So we have a team that's played the toughest schedule in the country and has played probably as many close games as anyone.

More often than not over the course of the season our guys have won those close games. They're 7-5 in two-possession games. Even better, in one-possession games they're 4-1! I think that says something about this team's mental toughness and desire to win.

Looking at the probable path to the finals of the SEC tourney, it appears we would face teams against which we have a 3-2 record, one comfortable win (UT 13), two wide losses (Florida 10, UK 11) and a split of the close games (1-1 with an asterisk against you-know-who).

The big challenge to getting to the finals appears to me to be UF. If that is so, we need to blow the Gators out or keep it close. Unlike our guys, the Gators haven't shown an ability to win the one-possession games. Against our 4-1 record in such games, the Gators are 1-4!

I'm optimisitc that we will be playing all the way to Sunday! RTR!!!

And in the 2 games we lost, the refs played a part in the losses...
