that is the UCLA high post offense. although JD does show good touch at times he still needs to be inside banging bodies i believe.
I realize that. I was trying to point out that the high post offense sucks. It seems like every year when he dumps it, we play our best ball.

Re: Coaching Basketball vs Coaching Football and Gottfried's Master Plan

Most well-coached teams have figured out how to jam it. It's not bad with a healthy RS, because he can cut you to pieces from behind the line. When he's no threat, there's just no way for that offense to work. One more vote for motion...

The closest that CMG came to dumping the high post offense was last year. Every other year, he's maintained his version of the high post offense throughout the season. For instance, the Elite 8 run was powered by vintage high post offense. Chuck Davis was able to emerge as a scoring threat thanks to the difficult matchups that the high post creates. Pettway, Shelton, and Winston were able to thrive off of the high post. We need to remember that when the high post offense is executed well that the SF and SG are put in a position to succeed.

I am so glad Gottfried is gone. I can't wait to see what coach Grant does with this program. Should be exciting.
