If they're asking to talk to other coaches I guess that pretty much says all you need to know about what they think their chances of holding onto Calipari are. Sure looks like Kentucky would have to seriously screw the pooch in order for Calipari to stay at Memphis. I guess the SEC is going to be that much tougher, good thing we've now got CAG.

Apparently Anderson has something he wants to Prove in the SEC!!

I tend to believe them. It doesn't make sense that Memphis is asking for official permission to speak with coaching candidates before Calipari officially resigns.
Was Anderson in Athens yesterday or has UGA contacted him yet? If UGA got Anderson and KY got Cal, the SEC east just got unbelievably hard.

If Ga is stupid enough to hire Anderson because of the reasons we didnt hire him or go after him then by all means doggies go get him. Ga already has had trouble in basketball before so now I know theyre just plain dumb.

They just reported on ESPN that Missouri AD has said that the school and Anderson have agreed upon a seven year extension.
If that's true....that's strike two Georgia! You're down to your last strike for a big name coach (possibly Capel?). Where will Memphis go now? Maybe Tim Floyd? I'm glad we've got Mr. Grant wrapped up in Crimson.

ESPN mentioned that Nolan Richardson is interested in the Memphis job if they want to offer it to him. I think that he would actually be a good fit there.
And I find it interesting that Anderson signs a contract extension with Mizzou for a lot less money than UGA was offering.
Edit: I didn't realize Richardson was in his late 60s. Maybe not.

I don't understand why Jeff Capel would be interested in leaving the Oklahoma job for the Georgia job. Oklahoma's b-ball program is considered to be one of the better ones in the country while Georgia's is not in that category. I can see OU and Capel restructuring his contract to pay him more if that's what it takes for him to remain at OU.
