Hilarious that Georgia might end up striking out!

With Memphis going after Anderson, hopefully Gawga will be totally shut out of consideration by the top candidates.

I have scanned their boards, and trust me, in their eyes, Gawga was far too good to offer Grant and their program is far superior to Bama's in the eyes of any rational cadidate. Notice how the smug bastards blow off academics when they think they have a shot at Anderson.

I hope Anderson blows them off so badly, and they end up with an Auburnesque hire. They are arrogant beyond all reason, considering how little tridition they have.

Forgive me. But I have always though Ga was just so obnoxious, given their history of mediocrity.

They're not having much luck that's for sure. Grant seemed to be their #1 target but he barely even considered them. They apparently offered the job to Anderson but he turned them down and reportedly accepted less money to stay at Mizzou. Tough time for the dawgs.

Re: Hilarious that Georgia might end up striking out!

Let's face it, Georgia may have a good football program, but they just don't have Alabama's football program, which helped lure Anthony Grant to Alabama. Anthony Grant knows Alabama fans love to win at any costs in any sport whether it be football or competitive badmitton. Georgia is irrelevant, and their basketball program is irrelevant. Plus, Georgia does not have the ability to win championships there. At Alabama, Coach Grant has those tools to win championships. I will say this: as much as I don't like former Coach Gottfried he could recruit major talent. And Coach Grant is going to win with the talent in place and the even better talent he recruits.

And ESPN is reporting that Georgia's latest interest, Jeff Capel, is the leading candidate for the Arizona job. It is the same pattern over and over. Georgia targets a head coach, and then some other program comes and swoops him a way. I almost feel bad for them. Almost.

Reports now have Tim Floyd as being the next Arizona coach. Either way I don't see Capel leaving Oklahoma to go to Georgia, unless Georgia is willing to shell out Calipari kind of $$$.

Re: Hilarious that Georgia might end up striking out!

I think Scott Drew from Baylor might end up in Athens. The Bears are playing the NIT Championship tomorrow night, but something could happen pretty quick after that.

That is official now. I am surprised that Arizona would go with Floyd over Capel. But that is their perrogative.

Report: USC coach Tim Floyd to Arizona - ESPN
Looks like ESPN jumped the gun again. Floyd turned down the Arizona job today. He said he also considered Memphis.
