Most big time school coaching candidates come from the pool of mid-major or lesser program coaches who make a run in the NCAA tourney. However, both this year and last year, the NCAA tourney pretty much held form. There really weren't many lower seeds to make the Sweet 16. So now those lesser program coaches who would otherwise be "hot" candidates are pretty much staying put.

I know. It was a real blessing that Gottfried decided to resign early. It gave us a jump start on all the other schools. And it gave us more time to focus on Grant, so he knew that he was the one we wanted as soon as VCU's season ended. Though Georgia wasn't able to take advantage of that.
