Coach: Cousins to follow Calipari

Per ESPN:

Cousins to UK

Quote:
"He told me tonight he's going to Kentucky," said Otis Hughley of LeFlore High School in Mobile, Ala. "He didn't say much after [John] Calipari left Memphis and, I told him I was there for advice and counsel, whatever he needed."

Re: Coach: Cousins to follow Calipari

Why do we think that CAG has to talk to Cousins? On JOX, the day that Cousins played in B'ham against Favors, he was asked why he was not considering AU or UA. His answer was that he had never heard from either program.

If you have the #4 recruit, according to ESPN, in your state and you don't even recruit him, there must be a reason. Personally, I hope CAG doesn't contact him.

When he was a sophomore, his team made it to the state tournament at the BJCC. I sat next to a man who was a fan of that team and followed them closely and he told us about Cousins. Then, when his team at Leflore made it this year, they got beat and he got two technicals and kicked out of the game. Those things tell me a lot about a player and he doesn't seem like one that I would want representing UA. I may be totally wrong but don't believe that I am.

Re: Coach: Cousins to follow Calipari

I had no doubt once Calipari went to UK...

...like this guy would let that happen...

We better get used to it. Worldwide Wes knows lottery picks, and as Cal himself has stated, he's a "goodwill ambassador to his program."

I'm fascinated as hell by his story and influence...but this is the NCAA we're talking about here. Something fishy has been going on for years with those two....

Sometimes team chemistry is more important than 1 player that you can't count on in the clutch,on or off the court. I would take Bledsoe over Cousins in a heartbeat.

Just read about the two in the championship game.

Well Calipari will need Cousins now that Patterson has declared for the draft (assuming he stays in the draft).

Re: Coach: Cousins to follow Calipari

Interesting article in the Sunday edition of the Huntsville Times about Cousins not winning Mr Basketball. I don't know how to link it, but it said mainly character and not coming up big in big games cost him. Kerron Butler of Madison Academy won.

Re: Coach: Cousins to follow Calipari

Thank you all for sertting me straight. I do remember now that were character issues. We don't need that in a rebuild.
