This is my first post on here, i have been reading this message board for a long time now and finally decided to become a member. I came across this article and found it very interesting, so take a look.
2010 odds are already available! Here are the true Las Vegas odds (followed by percentage chance) on next year’s NCAA championship:
North Carolina 14 to 1 (7%)
Kentucky 14 to 1 (7%)
Duke 21 to 1 (5%)
Louisville 21 to 1 (5%)
Alabama 25 to 1 (4%)
Kansas 25 to 1 (4%)
UCLA 25 to 1 (4%)
Georgetown 30 to 1 (3.5%)
Michigan State 30 to 1 (3.5%)
U Conn 37-1 (2.5%)
Florida 37-1 (2.5%)
Texas 37-1 (2.5%)
It boggles my mind to see Alabama put in the middle of that mix of teams. I always thought the Vegas odds makers knew what they were doing. But 25 to 1 for Bama to win it all next year makes me wonder.
Re: Las Vegas odds for 2010 and Bama is in the mix ....
Welcome to TideFans , Ben
It does look rather strange . Maybe Vegas figures a bundle of Bama fans will toss away some quick cash

The thing that kept coming back to me the other day in preparation for the Final 4 was 'man, wouldn't it be awesome to be a part of that'? I guess that when it comes to basketball we sort of look at it like an Ole Miss or Arkansas fan looks at football: we are right on the fringe but never really get to dance on that big stage. Would it not be awesome to be a part of that? The year of our Elite 8 appearance it was like a dream, a dream that just flew by and before you really got to appreciate it it was over. What must it be like to breathe that heady air year after year like the top programs do?

That makes ZERO sense. Could it have been a mistake, and that "A" school is really Arizona? Otherwise, it truthfully makes no sense. What criteria would they be using for that?
Vegas oddsmen are known for setting lines that are very accurate....... but this truthfully makes no sense. Weird!

I can dig it. Based on that, we are at the cusp of the final four with this coming year's team. We made the Elite 8 a few years ago, and that was with leadership on the floor, not from the bench. If we had true leadership from the bench, translating onto the floor, folks start coming out and giving them great support, AND we get back to recruiting sho-nuff basketball talent hearkening back to Wimp's days... Well, I know Wimp was good for SEC tourney championships and Sweet 16s, so why not go one or two further? It CAN be done people!

Say it, hippie! Tell it to the world! It can happen and when it does, it will change our whole concept of space, time and .... ohh. got a little carried away there.

That's ridiculous. I thought the same thing at first- typo. No way we are in the same class as Louisville, Arizona or UCLA. Not yet anyway. Funny- we are known for our extreme expectations in football. Now, nothing's stopping us, Sweet 16 or bust in 09-10.
