Is the Memphis basketball program self destructing or what? The NCAA has accused a player on the team had someone else take the SAT for him. The player's name is redacted from the letter, but the news article says the following.
Quote:
The player's name was redacted in the report, obtained by The Commercial Appeal on Wednesday through the Freedom of Information Act, because of privacy laws.
The player has subsequently denied the charge, according to university personnel.
The only player on the roster who competed only during that season was Derrick Rose, who subsequently was the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft last June.
It sounds like Calipari is not involved in this...at least initially. If the NCAA can prove that he knew about it though, I could see a Kelvin Sampson like situation happening at Kentucky.

Now I know why my UK friend said that they "will be on probation soon".

One question: how in the world could Calipari, the president/CEO of Memphis basketball, not be involved in this?
Remember my earlier comments about how "managed" players somehow get qualified?

I do remember your comments, Earle but all this defensive rebuttal from Lexington that "this is a Memphis, not UK, problem" or "Calipari is not involved" sounds ludicrous. Let's see how much Big Blue is willing to swallow about its new coach if more serious allegations come out. What would be the tipping point?
