Big A Re: Top 2011/2012 Basketball Prospects in Alabama

I know Marvin Whitt and Jeremy Watson of Homewood very well and they both have tons of potential. Marvin is making the transition from SG to PG this year, so he will have the ball in his hands more and more. I think he's been playing AAU PG so he should be just fine. I likes the fact that CMG isn't there anymore and is a definite possibilty for Bama.

Jeremy is rail thin but trying to gain mass. He's a taller player with guard skills. Got a soft touch around the rim and is a good rebounder. Needs to work hard in both gyms to play in the SEC, but the potential is there.

Re: Top 2011/2012 Basketball Prospects in Alabama

I'm curious what is the source for this list? Not trying to be rude, but normally a list like this is derived from a recruiting site or sport site or something. I'm just wondering if this list is your personal opinion or what.

Re: Top 2011/2012 Basketball Prospects in Alabama

i've personally seen lacey, pride, randolph, and the ragland kid play several times. lacey is the most dynamic kid out of the whole list of 2011/2012 list. he's an explosive player that can take over a game when needed, otherwise, he's unselfish, great passer, great defender, and makes free throws! his team mate pride, is a pure PG. he has great ball handling skills, decent jumper, great passer, quick as a cat, smart with the ball, and good defender. the randolph kid is a pure shooter. he has an excellent touch on his shot, long and lanky, good defender, but he is all shooter. the ragland kid, randolph's team mate is OVER rated!! he's a good ball player, but let's things get in his head, selfish at times, but is a good driver to the hole and can finish and get the 3 point play, but anyone with a hint of quickness can take this kid off the dribble.

IIRC, this is a rangy guy that can shoot the 3.

This guy is a banger, a hustler, and he's thick. He's fun to watch and kind of reminds me of a DeMarre Carroll.

The only time I have seen these guys is from the 6A State Championship game. While I wasn't watching that Jordan Swing guy make baskets from everywhere (by the way, I think he just made another 3), these two guys from Bob Jones looked to be legitimate stars in the making.
