Basketball Tide Pride Fee Increase and Other Changes

Share

What do any of you Tide Pride members think of the new fee increases in Tide Pride for Basketball? This is the first fee increase for basketball. My level, Passer Club, only increased by $50 a seat. But, the seats on the sideline floor doubled from $1000 to $2000. Also, per SEC rules, they are moving the baseline seats for students to the other end by the Alabama bench. Now, students are no longer allowed to sit by the visiting team bench.

I know the AD has to pay MG $70,000 a month for the next couple of years, pay for CAG's contract, and pay for some of the facilities upgrades. But, it doesn't seem like a good time to increase Tide Pride fees during this recession. I wonder if some in Tide Pride will not renew because of the fee increase, or if there will be a high renewal rate because of the excitement of the new coach. For me, I am excited about CAG and will renew.

from the article i read, it doesn't sound like they are completely moving the student section. it seems like they will still have their old seats, but they will also have the whole base line by the home bench.

winning will take care of any bad feelings about this. coach grant does not come cheap (like all really good coaches)......ticket prices went up when Bama hired coach saban in football....no one cares about that. and once coach grant starts winning this will all blow over as well.

Re: Basketball Tide Pride Fee Increase and Other Changes

Right. They are not moving the entire student section. As I wrote above, they are only moving the students that sit on the baseline to the opposite end.

The SEC made this rule according to the notice the Tide Pride office sent to its members. The student baseline seats were not behind the visting team bench. But, they were next to the visiting team locker room and the portal where they would enter. That's probably why the SEC wanted the students to move. It was so funny to watch $tan$bury avoid walking in front of the student section and enter through the same portal as our team.
