I have four weeks in which I have to be in Starkville, MS for some pre-teaching certification and course development. Of course, you know that Starkville is the home of Mississippi State. I spent one week there about three weeks ago. Let's just say they don't call it Starkville for nothing, especially in the summer in the off-season.

Well, I've found my new running route whenever I'm staying in Biloxi.


When staying at the Beau Rivage, I like to run down to the Biloxi Bay Bridge into Ocean Springs. It's about 3.5 to 4 miles from the Beau to Ocean Springs and typically takes me a little over an hour to run it there and back (8 miles 'round trip).

I survived the Azalea Trail 10K Run in Mobile last weekend.

I don't know which was worse...the thunderstorms and tornadoes the night before or the humidity that set in during the run. Still, it was a beautiful route, with Azalea Maids waving, on-lookers cheering, ringing cow bells, funny signs along the way (the "Free Beer 2 Miles" sign helped me to think cool thoughts), and great music from the front porches of the neighborhood.

I finished the race in 43:55....
