Presidential Election Trends - Where We Are in 2008

In looking at the two candidates, Barack Obama and John McCain, clearly these politicians are from different generations.

In my time spent talking with people in and around primarily conservative eastern North Carolina, I am decidedly in a red region of a red state. Or am I?

North Carolina is a very diverse state with mountains on one side and the beach towns on the other side. There are also the population centers of Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Greensboro and Winston-Salem....

Flying Ain't What It Used To Be

Today, Thursday, July 24th, is the fourth day of the last five I have flown on USAir. Sunday, I flew from Ft. Lauderdale to North Carolina after driving Mrs. VJ to FL for a couple of weeks to tie up loose ends connected with our relocation.

Monday was my day off (from flying). Monday, the most dreaded and feared workday of the week, was actually my best day. Tuesday, my day started at 3:30 a.m. to catch a 5:30 a.m. flight for Minneapolis. For a three hour meeting in which I was...

Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle has endorsed Barack Obama. Word has it now that Ted Kennedy is set to announce on Monday his support of Obama. John Kerry in recent days has made statements that Bill Clinton's words and actions are unbefitting of a former president.

With the Old Guard Lib'ruls ready to throw the Clintons into the dumpbin of history, who will Hillary have now to push the brand?
