10:30 p.m. CST - History made, and then back to football...
I just finished watching John McCain's concession speech, and as I type this, I am anticipating the acceptance speech of our new president-elect, Barack Obama.

This is not meant as a political statement. That's not how I ever want to use this forum. But I would request that you take the time to do what I did,

Big A Re: Chris's Blog - Election Day - November 4th

Good post, thanks. This is what we are still learning about this team: if they put forth a Georgia/Clemson like effort this game could get ugly FAST. Conversely, if they put forth less than their best, this team will struggle and LSU still has the hosses to beat us. CNS should already have his name engraved on the Paul Bryant Coach of the Year trophy for his performance this year. When he accepts the trophy he should then break it and give each piece to an assistant coach. Step back and analyze this team:

9 scholarship seniors (not all heavy contributors) yet leadership is at a premium.

16+ TRUE FRESHMEN playing. As if adjusting to college life weren't hard enough, these guys are playing dynamic, productive football in the toughest conference in America.

6 losses by 7 pts or less last year yet this team has rebounded with mental toughness that would impress a drill instructor in the military.

Players stepping up their game. Guys like Arenas, Fanney, Davis, McCoy, Coffee, Upchurch, Deaderick, and Woodall playing above their heads and maintaining this level of intensity.

Win or lose, this team is special. We have turned the corner. To think last year was the worst year we may have to endure for quite some time should frighten some rival fans, and thrill Alabama fans.

Roll Tide

Re: Chris's Blog - Election Day - November 4th

I pray for wisdom for the the leaders of this country constantly. Sometimes I start to feel like those prayers have gone unanswered...and then I think, "What if I had not prayed for them? How bad could it have been then?"
