Also honorable mention would have to be Freddie Kitchens. Without a doubt Freddie is one of the toughest people to play at Alabama.......ever. Not only did he have to endure pounding after pounding on the field, he took poundings every Sunday in the paper whether he played well or not.

I say Lane Beardon for the reasons mentioned in the first paragraph.

Who out there doesn't smile when they remember Beardon hobbling on and off the field?

No one over the age of 45 could possibly have one favorite Alabama player. I have one for every year I've followed the Tide.
