Shaun Alexander is mine and like many others, I like to see him run. He is a very Christian Man and I have always liked him. Next will be Coach Shula...Roll Tide
I cant just pick one. Each and every one of them have been my favorite. Any player who puts on the crimson jersey and gives his all is my favorite...Not right just picking one....JMHO.....RTR
Shaun Alexander, followed by Jay Barker. Both of these guys possessed a no quit attitude. While Shaun Alexander came to Alabama ready to rewrite the record book, it took Jay just a little longer to realize his potential. Both love the university and also realize there is a whole other world out there to live in. Finally and most importantly neither sacrificed their belief in God, and there were many chances I'm sure.
Also honorable mention would have to be Freddie Kitchens. Without a doubt Freddie is one of the toughest people to play at Alabama.......ever. Not only did he have to endure pounding after pounding on the field, he took poundings every Sunday in the paper whether he played well or not.
I say Lane Beardon for the reasons mentioned in the first paragraph.
Who out there doesn't smile when they remember Beardon hobbling on and off the field?

No one over the age of 45 could possibly have one favorite Alabama player. I have one for every year I've followed the Tide.
Cheers and best wishes to all that have given their all for UA!
Roll Tide Roll!

To have a tradition like ours means that you can't lose your cool; to have tradition like ours means that you always have to show class, even when you are not quite up to it; to have tradition like ours means that you have to do some things that you don't want to do and some you even think you can't do, simply because tradition demands it of you. On the other hand, tradition is the thing that sustains us. Tradition is that which allows us to prevail in ways that we could not otherwise." University President David Matthews talking to an Alabama team in the early 70s.
