Iron Bowl to be moved back to Thanksgiving week?

I'm trying to think of the last time the Iron Bowl was played on or during Thanksgiving week. I know it happened in the late '80's. Maybe 1992?

Wasn't the game actually played on Thanskgiving Day in 1992?

I seem to recall being at my sister-in-law's house and her scheduling dinner during the game. Caused me and my brother-in-law to have to keep jumping up and leaving the table because she wouldn't have a TV in the dining room.

It was on Thanksgiving day and I was in Milan, Italy. Couldn't find the game anywhere and couldn't get any of my family on the phone. Finally made it through in the fourth quarter.

I was there and had a good time after the game in the Bars on Gramont Avenue across from the stadium....

That was a good game. It was a gridlocked 0-0 tie at the half. Then, Anotnio Langham intercepts a pass and runs it back for a TD, and Bama never looked back.

I remember that game very well. Our first child was born the next day, so it was a GREAT Thanksgiving weekend for me!
