Does anyone know if this will be televised? My newspaper said Fox but I can't always trust them to know what they are saying. I know it starts at 7 p.m.
For the past 10 years or so, it has been on FSN South. However, it does not look like that is the case this year. The AHSAA page only mentions radio coverage, and both my DirecTV guide and the FSN-S website say that they are showing boxing Saturday night. I also have not seen any advertisements for it being shown.
For the first time in more than a decade, the Alabama-Mississippi High School All-Star Classic will not be televised.
The game, which is in its 18th year, had been televised annually by Fox SportsNet or one of its earlier incarnations since the early 1990s. But Paul Christopher, the Ladd-Peebles Stadium manager, said when the game lost its title sponsor, HealthSouth, it couldn't get an adequate financial package together early enough to secure television coverage.
The game, set for a 7 p.m. kickoff Saturday at Ladd-Peebles, will be broadcast via the Internet at ahsaa.com, as well as on a handful of Mississippi radio stations.

Jimmy Johns has a theory about why tonight's Alabama-Mississippi High School All-Star Classic isn't being televised.
"They don't want Alabama to see the streak get broken," Johns said Friday, with only the slightest hint of a grin.
Officially, the 18th edition of the Classic, set for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, won't be on TV for the first time since the early 1990s because the game lost its title sponsor and the accompanying financial backing. But with a six-game losing streak in the series, Mississippi is looking for any motivational advantage it can get.
Mississippi has its best chance to end a six-game losing streak against Alabama in their annual All-Star Football Classic contest tonight at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
Alabama leads the all-time series 12-5 but hasn't lost since being shut out 9-0 in 1998. Alabama has reeled off six straight wins, including a 24-22 victory last year.

Johns will be going to the hospital today to have an X-Ray and maybe an MRI. Results will determine if he is to see a specialist or not. Johns seems to be in good spirits and thinks he will be in good shape in 2 weeks approaching his reporting time to UA.
I know it has been discussed on here before, but if you look at video on Johns he does not try to avoid contact. Just like how he first injured it leading the blocking on a sweep. You just don't see a QB leading the blocking all the time. He is a versatile that's what is so great, I mean how many times do we discuss whether a guy is better suited to play QB or LB? Maybe QB or RB or WR, but LB (safety has been tossed around too)? I like the kid's 'pluck and grit', I just hope he is durable and we don't have him leading on sweeps, lol.

"I'm not really concerned about it because I never really rested it after I hurt it in practice. I've still got two weeks before I report to Alabama, so I think it'll be doing pretty good by then."
"I'm ready to come over there and fight for a position," Johns said, "and I've got one position in mind right now: quarterback."
Hopefully, an injury aggravated during a meaningless all-star game won't prevent that from happening.
