Color me worried...Once Steve gets through punishing his guys who made mistakes in the UGA game, they'll catch on & not only is it a home game, but a game to make Steve all happy again with those guys - they're going to come out ready to KILL Alabama next week.........
Spurrier has his QB playing very well already. We will score on their defense, but they will score on ours, as well. I see this as a 28 - 24 game right now. If we cannot run the ball, we will lose. We simply cannot give USC the same opportunities that we gave USM...
I truly believe we can win this game, but we have to get rid of mistakes. We can't afford any INTs on our 20 like last night, and if our special teams can keep their returns minimal and our kicker can make a few, I think we'll be okay.
I was feeling good about it after watching SC-USF, not feeling so good after seeing them play UGA.
More than anything, I want the players to redeem themselves for last year's loss to SC, which was probably the most pathetic display of Alabama football I've ever seen.
I don't know if CSS will use the same defensive scheme against us as he did in this game, but if he does, we should be able to run a BUNCH.
Down linemen jumping up and moving around, all of the defensive front in two-point stances a lot of the time, linebackers moving in and out of the line...that doesn't make sense to me. We should line up in the "I" and run quick-openers until they have to adjust, then Brodie can pick them apart.
I do think this will be a test, though. I just pray that we continue to rush the QB with four guys and blitz often. The "prevent" is a failed idea that persists against all logic...

Well, NYBF, my point was that we should be able to run quick openers against a team that doesn't even get down in a three-point stance. I agree that our OL play has been below par...but we knew that before fall practice began.

The UGA/USC game was a result of Carolina playing alot better than last week, but also UGA playing not as well as they did against Boise St. UGA did not have the best production on offense and made mistakes, much like Bama did against USM, which kept USC in the game.
