We've both played Florida and statistically speaking UT allowed a total of 247 yards, while Bama allowed 326 and UT gained a total of 320 yards while Bama gained a total of 407 yards. UT scored a total of 7 points and Bama scored 31 points. UT allowed Florida to score 16 points while Bama allowed UF a total of 3 points.
The other common opponent was Ole Miss and statiscally speaking UT allowed a total of 250 yards, while Bama allowed a total of 279 yards to the Rebs. UT gained a total of 378 yards and Bama gained a total of 355 yards. UT allowed Ole Miss to score 10 points as did Bama, however, UT scored a total of 27 points while Bama scored a total of 13.
If you are looking for two more similar statical teams, you'd be hard pressed to find them when you look at the overall picture. The biggest difference is that Florida beat UT and Bama beat Florida...both beat Ole Miss. Florida also lost to LSU and LSU lost to UT, so what does all of this mean? I have no idea, but I thought it made for some interesting reading and discussion.
