I’m going to the Bama Utah St game and it’s the first homecoming I’ve gone to. Are there any special events or anything going on other than the game? I will be bringing my son and he wants to go to Hooters. I want to go to Dreamland. I don’t know what hooters serve. But, I don’t guess you go there for the food anyways . Help me Bamafans.
Is your visit a day trip or are you staying overnight?
Homecoming activities go on all week; however, it really kicks in on Friday with the pep rally and bonfire on the Quad. I believe these events begin at 7:00 P.M. On gameday, there is the annual homecoming parade at (I think) 9:00 A.M. Pretty much all schools/colleges at UA have some special alumni activity that day and most will have tents set up on the Quad. Some are breakfasts/brunches/luncheons. As for any game, Kickoff on the Quad begins 3 hours before kickoff. Additionally, for homecoming there is always "Homecoming under the big-top" on the Quad, as well.
While Hooters does have great wings, burgers, sandwiches, etc. It is a restaurant that you can go to pretty much anywhere. I'd recommend something either unique to Tuscaloosa or a chain with relatively few locations. Therefore, I'd choose Dreamland, Baumhower's Wings, or Buffalo Phils before Hooters in Tuscaloosa if I were making only a day trip. Other places to consider would be The Waysider for breakfast, if you're down by lunchtime on Friday, City Cafe in downtown Northport would be great.

Don't Forget that Better than Ezra and Collective Soul will be the artists at the Homecoming Concert. The parade starts at 9 and is always a sight to see. Also, go down sorority row and show your family the giant lawn decorations that the hot girls spend all week making.
Thanks for the help. We'll be coming down Saturday morning so we'll miss all the excitement from Friday . I'm coming early so I can find decent parking. Hopefully we’ll make it for the parade.
Is there a place where you can meet the players or the players of the past? I would love to get a picture of my son with someone I think is famous. Maybe even Earl from Tidefan .
The University of Alabama’s tradition of celebrating Homecoming Week will continue this year Oct. 23-29 with the theme “Tide and True: A Family Tradition.”
The celebration begins with the 17th annual Roll Tide Run on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. The run will begin on Capstone Drive, with registration being held at the rear entrance of Gorgas Library.
Paint the Town Red will take place on Monday, Oct. 24, from 1-4 p.m. as campus organizations show their school spirit across Tuscaloosa. At 7 p.m., the UA Homecoming Basketball Tournament will take place at the Student Recreation Center. University Programs will present the film “Ghost” at the Ferguson Theater at 7:30 p.m.
Does anyone know when the pep rally is? Time and Date? Thanks in advance......

Alabama is 2- and 3-deep all over the place with full grown, meaner-than-he!! men. It's almost not fair making college kids play against them. Any Saban-coached team is going to be deep as he!! with recruits that have elite size, strength and experience at their position and they are going to play with incredible physicality.
I support PAWS.
BTW: Tried several hotels (for a room) for a friend for the h/c weekend, and both Ramada and Best Western had cancellations & had rooms available. May be filled now, but worth a shot for someone looking for a room. Dial direct to T-town listings.
I'm pretty sure the bonfire starts at 9:00 pm Friday night at least thats when it always was when I was in school, 7:00 would not be after dark. I think the pep rally is either during after or before the bonfire can't remember its been a while since I've been down on Friday night.
