Not to complain, as I'm happy about any recognition Ryans gets, but don't you think the only reason that he got the award is because of the fumble recovery and the interception? Two statistics that a simpleton can understand.

People like to look at thinks like number of tackles as well when judging a defender, but that stat tells you more about the players' opponents then themselves.

Anyhoo congrats to Demeco.

Man, I'm gonna sure miss him when he moves on to the NFL. I love watching him play the game. He belongs on any short list of great ALABAMA linebackers.

Agreed on that one. He is right up there with C. Bennett, D. Thomas, L. Jordan, and E.J. Junior.

There's been a growing national awareness of DeMeco in recent weeks. I definitely think it's more than game statistics. He's a great leader, not to mention an outstanding student.

If they're between the sidelines, DeMeco will get 'em.

The Birmingham News said the other day that very few schools (including Tenn.) recruited Ryans out of high school.
Now, several NFL scouts are watching him.

Ironic.
