That was a big game and the loss hurt, but that game is history! We got bigger issues to attend to, Auburn! If you asked me which game was bigger before the season started, LSU or Auburn, you all know the answere.
We can win this game and I believe we will. I think if we shut down their running game and not give up any big pass plays for scores then they score max 14 points. Their Defense is fast and good but they are not as good as LSU or Tennessee. Our offensive line will not be much different but I know they will play their heart out and at least give Brodie a few good passing oppertunities. He needs to connect on at least one of them long pass plays for a score and we have to have a reciever catch it. Other than that we need to play ball control offense to keep our Defense off the field and fresh. We will need to have a great week of practice and our guys need to put saturday behind them, which I don't really see that as a problem.
Folks we need to put that game behind us as fans too. Our guys played extremely hard and came up so short, it took LSU down to the last play of the game to beat us. No embarressment in that! These other Tigers though need to be dealt with! I cringe at the thought of another loss to them.
I think we beat them 17-14. Money will be hisself late and we celebrate 10 wins. And don't think we are history when it comes to the SEC championship game. I gaurantee our coaches and players are still looking for something magical to happen, to complete this magical season. Beating Auburn Saturday would be music to my ears for the next 365 days. Lets get'er done, believe!!!!

if we can't stop their running game, we won't win. And I don't think we can stop their running game. hope i'm wrong
I hope your wrong too. But I agree. We have to stop their running game or we are toast. Other Than Arkansas we have done a good job of it. So that has to be priority #1 saturday.

I will say this much....Kenny Irons is probably going to be a little sore the day after the Iron Bowl. I've got a good feeling our defense is going to come out with an even greater intensity than before.

I think our defense will get the job done. If the offense can wake up, it should be a fun game. LSU is a done deal, time to move on.
We are 9 & 1, ranked in the top 10!. At the beginning of the year, who would have realistically thought we would be here . Life is (still) good!

I've had a couple of days to mull it over (or brood or whatever you want to call it...)...
As Ron Franklin says, "here's the situation"...
To beat Auburn, Bama would have to completely shut down the barns running game and force Cox to pass. When he does pass, DeMeco has to be in that backfield on Cox like white on rice. That's a really tall order for the defense to keep Auburn out of scoring range, but if we can keep them to field-goals at worst, then we have a chance...a little chance..but a chance.
If the defense plays a perfect game and if Auburn can find a way to be a little inept on offense, maybe our defense can pitch one more shutout. If that happens, then we stand a pretty good chance of winning.
So, with that said...
Best case scenario:
Bama 6 AU 3
Middle ground:
Bama 9 AU 6
or
AU 12
Bama 9
If the defense can't control the line of scrimmage the entire game:
AU 20
Bama 6

We don't win without shuting down their running game thats a given. Cox will have time to throw at times so he will complete some passes. We just have to make sure he doesn't hit us with a big play. How? Pressure would be the best way but I don't think we can blitz every down either.
Our best option would be to move the ball on offense and keep their offense off the field. That will be a tall order for sure but I think it can be done. I don't think AU's D is as good as LSU's and I believe a good dose of Darby might be the antidote for our problems on O this week. If we can run the ball and contoll time of possesion then we will be in the game even if we only score 17 or so. 3 and outs will be our death toll, so I hope our coaches are preparing for a 3 yards and a cloud of dust game. I know that sounds strange but incomplete passes whether overthrown or dropped passes gains nothing and stops the clock. Also there's more of a chance for lost yardage, sacks, and mistakes and tournovers.
We need Auburn to shoot themselves in the foot a time or two also. You go back and look at the LSU game, they didn't turn the ball over at all, had fewer penalties I believe than their normal and even us I think. And their recievers caught everything thrown their way. That is the best they have played all year and we still nearly beat them with all our dropped passes, sacks and total ineffectiveness on offense the second half. That game could have easily turned the other way with just one more misstake on LSU's part, but they played allmost flawlessly to win. Now if Auburn plays flawless ball we won't win, and we may very well get their best game of the year saturday. But against a Georgia team that made more misstakes to lose a game than plays to win, they just didn't impress me to the point of no hope.

I want Bama to beat Auburn so badly...so dearly...
I want to believe that Bama's offense will finally open for business again, and lay a whipping on them like they did in 2001 (31-7).
I really...really...want this to happen.
But, it's been a month, and I haven't seen consistent improvement on offense since Pro went down. This would be a good time to turn it around.
Honestly...I believe the Tide can do it...
...it's up to the players and coaches to actually do it.
They not only can do it, They've Got to do It. I don't think our players, coaches and most especially us fans can stomach another 365 days hearing them crow! I really think that most all that our guys have acomplished up to this point will be forgotten by most fans and the media if we lose to the barn. And God forbid we get beat like some think we will.
This is the biggest game of the biggest games of the year we have had. I hope our guys can shake off their dissapointment and get focused on the task at hand. That may wind up being harder for us to overcome than Kenny Irons. It's just got to be done though. To have played at Alabama and to have never beaten the barn would be qiot hard to have to live with if you ask me. Lets go Boys! Kick some Tiger Tail this week!
