" Auburn assistant Hugh Nall, a former Georgia offensive lineman, said Saturday he's no longer a candidate for the head coaching job at Georgia Southern. "I came to Auburn with Coach [Tommy] Tuberville with the goal of winning a national championship," Nall told the Journal-Constitution. "I still want to pursue that goal."

'fraid ole Hugh is gonna be there a long time !

I have a hard time believing Les Miles would leave LSU after only one year...especially after nearly going undefeated.

Maybe some unruly LSU fans broke the windows on their own team bus.

I have a hard time believing someone would want to hire him after one season of proving nothing but an ability to manage superior talent, something you don't just walk right into at many jobs (he happened to this year).

He's coached at Colorado before as an assistant.
He also had success at Oklahoma State, going 28-21 with 2 wins over Oklahoma in 4 years.

Whether he's interested in leaving LSU or not, who knows but Les?
The rumor mill can make something out of nothing, or a big deal out of a small something.
Scenario:
Colorado athletic director: What would it take to bring you back to Colorado?
Les Miles: 2 million a year.
Colorado athletic director: Yeah, right.
Rumor mill: "Les Miles has expressed interest in the Colorado job"

But he doesn't seem above ditching them Franchione-style, if his underhanded actions at the Cotton Bowl are any indication.

This makes me ill....

South Carolina Head Coach Steve Spurrier was named the Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year, the Associated Press announced today.
That sucks. CMS should have that award hands down. Ahh the politics of the SEC. May they all get a rash.

It's more of a tossup in my book. It could have gone either way. Both coaches were but a play or two away from meeting in the SECCG. Both took very little and made a lot of it. Of the two, Spurrier probably had the tougher job--despite the depth issues caused by the sanctions, our starting 22 were much better than his.

On the flip side, the SEC West was a much tougher division this year. LSU, Auburn and Alabama are all very good football teams. There was really only Georgia to contend with in the SEC East.
