Recruiting: Linebackers for 2007

Share

Anyone with ideas or wishes as to who we sign next Feb.

These are the ones I have in mind:

OLB: Sign Two
Chris Walker
Rolando McClain
Eltoto Freeman

ILB: Sign Two
Michael DeJohn
Kyle Jackson
Pat Lazear

Andre Hicks and Hershel Houston are both listed as linebackers on Rivals.com, but I have heard they are more regarded as fullbacks and we will certainly need to sign one.

Thoughts?

Guys with offers:

MLB:
Rolando McClain (no way he plays OLB)
Pat Lazear
Earl Patin
John Stokes

OLB:
Chris Walker
Carlton Johnson
Xavier Lamb

*Note there are some guys who project as both LB/DE

Several who could get offers at camp. I think Kines has several on a short list that we'll see after camp.

As far as the LB offers you have listed, are all the offers first come, first serve? In others words after the scholarships that are allotted for LBs are filled, are there any of these guys that Shula will not turn away no matter what?

Also, from all that I've read it appears McClain will sign with Alabama or All-barn. Any idea which way he is leaning?

Yeah, he has that throwback look doesn't he. He just looks really mean, which is perfect for LB!

Scares me just lookin' at him! If Houston is anywhere near as good as his Uncle, I'd love to see him in Crimson.
