Huntsville duo riding high Tide

If you ask Kenneth Darby or Ramzee Robinson, the Southeastern Conference might as well hold its annual Media Days here in the Rocket City.

Darby and Robinson - both 2002 graduates of Butler High - will be Alabama's player representatives next month at the three-day event at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover that is a sort of marker that football season has arrived.

Darby and Robinson, along with coach Mike Shula, will meet with hundreds of reporters from across the nation at Media Days.

I figured we had two good'uns in these kids when I saw that they were competing and pushing each other to see which one would have the first 400 lb. bench press while still in HS. Still blows my mind. That's more than a lot of blue-chip big uglies can do.

There couldn't be two more deserving players than these two. I'm hoping, that be season's end, we see the chosen as permanent team captains joining the rest of those around Denny Chimes.

I couldn't agree more.
