I find myself wondering this morning the same thing I've been wondering all week. How do we do facing a 4-4-3 defense? A lot lies on JPW's shoulders today...as far as reading defenses. With ULM playing a "rover and a bandit" it isn't a stretch to say they can switch from a 3 back defensive secondary to a 5 back defensive secondary very quickly.
Will Shula loosen the reigns some today and allow JPW to check out of plays?
Looking for big games out of Castille (Tim) and JPW...
KD is in the game, everybody switches to an eight-man front, anyway.

After reading Jess' breakdown on their defense earlier this week, I actually believe we will be successful running the ball against the Warhawks. If nothing else, they have very little depth in the defensive line... and that should lead to them getting winded towards the last quarter of the game. That, coupled with the fact that I'm sure the OL has been "hearing about it" this week, leads me to think we'll work well on the ground. If JPW has early success in the air, I'd think that would do nothing but help out the ground game as well.
I'll be in and out until about 2:30 (gotta get some stuff done before settling down for some football), so while the party can get a little bit wound up, it cannot officially start yet...

Yes, and that's one of the reasons I'm wondering how much freedome JPW will have this week.
Even though KD has seen 8 man fronts this year, JPW hasn't seen the motion he's going to motion out of the LB corps I believe he'll see today.
If we start with three receivers in the game, we make them adjust. Also, the TE should be available all day long.
I think that we could pass early and often and have great success, but Shula is probably going to want to get the running game going.
The real question in my mind - how talented are their defensive linemen? If they are weak, we could have success running the ball, even on the right, even with the LBs all in the box.
I am very interested in how we set up and defend their offensive scheme given their similarities to Florida...
