The only thing that for sure is that he will coach two more games. That's all anyone can think about right now. Nothing is going to happen until the season is over. When it is over, some people are going to have some tough decisions to make. They are going to have to be decisive about their decision. But there are two games left against LSU and Auburn, and that's all anyone can focus on."

Whatever "decisions" are made it will definitely be swift and in the immediate fashion. The worst thing is dragging it out and making a spectacle of it. Make the decisions and move forward. That would be the best thing.

<< Will Alabama ever dominate like it did under coach Bryant or has the parity of college football made that impossible?
"No they won't. In this day in college football, it's impossible to do what coach Bryant did -- win six national championships and dominate the SEC the way he did... . With limited scholarships and parity, anyone can win on any given day." >>
That is the most interesting thing Stabler said in the interview, to me.
Now, if some Alabama fans could only grasp that truth...

I absolutely agree that it's impossible to do what Coach Bryant did. Those days are long gone. Regardless of limited scholarships and parity, I do not, however, agree that anyone can win on any given day. It isn't a throw of the dice.

I believe most (I stress most) Bama fans realize this, especially the ones here at TideFans, but I also believe most fans can see there is something very wrong with this team. I don't know for sure if a complete overhaul is in order, but I do know that certain elements of the current staff need to be replaced and if CMS is not willing to do this, then he is not the right man for the job.

Re: Stabler:Nothing Will Happen Till the End of the Season-Link
Most of us KNOW we will never dominate like Coach Bryant did (most of us know we will not see his like again) and the game has changed, too. But there is a broad gulf between that expectation and the more reasonable expectation of scoring more than an offensive touchdown on Mississippi State every 8 quarters (and counting).

Write it down, tatoo it to your butt or whatever PERMANENT way you've got to make a note of this comment.
MIKE SHULA WILL BE ALABAMA's HEAD COACH NEXT SEASON! I don't care what anybody says, he will not be fired. Unless he ducks his tail and quits, Mike isn't going anywhere.
With that said, it is not only possible but EXTREMELY likely that there will be some major coaching changes. Without naming names...because this board has chosen to not put rumors up, most of you know who I'm talking about. However, none of it is in writing, but the buzzards are circling three men.
There is one thing that I can discuss because it is my opinion and not rumor. I believe Mike will be asked (forcefully) to take himself out as offensive coordinator and hire someone who will run a different pro-style offense. If that is Rader, then so-be-it, but my money is on the hiring of a true offensive mind with a proven track record. No names have been mentioned, but I'll throw one or two out there. Rick Neuheisel would be a great choice. First, yes he does have a bit of stain on him from his run in the NCAA, but do you realize that he's been the QB coach with the Baltimore Ravens for the past two years? Do you remember that Ozzie Newsome HIRED him and would I'm sure suggest he go to Alabama if the offer came up!
Other than Neuheisel, I'm not sure...however, there are a lot of offensive options...however, Neuheisel if hired would be a great successor if something were to happen with Mike. First, he's learned his lesson and second, he won't screw up his "second chance" if given one. He's young and has a great MIND! He is all of 45 years old and is likely not terribly thrilled with being a QB coach and would have a much higher profile as Alabama's offensive coordinator. The biggest problem with him is EGO! Would he be willing to take a back seat to Mike Shula? That's the million dollar question. However, Mike has had to see what happens when you hire a true offensive mind...as in UT and the Hoggs!

Well I went ahead and wrote it down but I didn't tattoo it on my butt.
I think he's gone. I don't see Snake making those kinds of comments off the cuff like that.
Now if they win these next two games things change. If not, I think the uproar from fans and alumni will just be too much for the folks in charge to bare. And I think Snake knows something or he would not have said what he said.
