I know that this has been beat, but I wanted to get some of yalls indepth analysis on their differences. Since Capps went down, we got to see how Tatum would perform against some top tier DL (SEC talent-wise). I saw Tatum make two critical mistakes 1.) holding 2.) gave up a sack. On the last I believe he used the wrong technique and allowed the DE inside pressure, but he was at least still on him and not watching with his hands on his hips like I have seen Capps do all year! I would also say the referee's could call holding on the OL on almost any given play. Other than those two mistakes, I believe he played a fantastic game. I could also tell some minor differences in the running. Tatums man was not getting that inside penetration and catching the RB from the blind side. It seemed like LSU was blowing up our running plays from the middle.
All I can say is that if Tatum gets the start Saturday because Capps is injured, I sure hope he remembers the dismal performance of the entire O-line on November 19, 2005. I hope everyone who was there remembers that. I hope the coaches show them film of that game (especially the 1st 4 minutes) repeatedly this week. I hope they distribute DVD copies of it and make watching it their homework for the entire week. I hope they're reminded of it everywhere they go. I hope they're embarrassed enough about it to vow "Never Again!"

No kidding. I'd have all eleven sacks looped together for film study this week.
Let's hope that JPW remembers his lesson from last week.
He moved in the pocket quite a few times to get away from a DL/DE.
We all know from BC that the duck and cover will not keep you from getting sacked.

One thing that I also noticed during the LSU game was the time for JPW. I was able to count past 5 most of the time (it got to 4 in the last quarter). More time for JPW means more time for those deep routes to develop. I also noticed that we rarely kept our TE in in the second quarter.... though I don't think any passes were thrown to them. Maybe that is our secret weapon for Allbarn, we now have a RT that can block his man longer than 2-3 seconds, and Preston Dial will be used in the vertical passing game
good points bama lee. i also thought did a better job than capps. at least we did not see the bull rushes constantly coming at jpw from his position. tatum is a little stronger and bigger, he has not played near as much, and what a way to start playing, against the best defense. also as mentioned. the other offensive weakness that was there last year against auburn, is wesley britt, and he showed it again at LSU. auburn will beat him all day.
Fortunately, Wes Britt won't have to worry about Auburn this year or ever again...

bamar, help the rest of us out here, where is Wesley Britt mentioned in this thread and who are you confusing him with??? Could it possibly be Justin Britt? Wesley Britt is now playing in the NFL and he had nothing to do with last year's OL debacle against the barn. For that matter neither did his brother Justin.

From what I saw on TV it looked like Tatum had a better game than what Capps has been doing. I qualify this by saying you often can't tell what is happening on the OL because of the shot you are fed by TV.
If Tatum plays, we'll win. I firmly believe that position can be the biggest difference in winning & losing. (See Ole Miss when Tatum came in).
How can 92,000 the people see the difference between the two players & our coaching staff can't????
Prattville kids know how to play football( see Roman Harper, Bobby Greenwood, Travis McCall) Let Kyle play, he's a senior & deserves to start based on his performance.
