You (emphasis on you) can see whether PF throws softballs or actually gets into some in depth questions this afternoon.
I'd suspect, Ford will once again take his shots at CMG.
FWIW, their (MSU) compliance director was in B-ham this afternoon asking some questions about Sharpe and his recruitment. The questions have been categorized as CYA more than anything. IE: Dickey in Mobile.
Interesting afternoon, he had Ford on his heels in my opinion. Parker administrators might want to advise him to stay off the airwaves and quit making himself look foolish. Those kind of calls might tend to put Ford in the Lynn Lang/Milton Kirk categories, the market is open for bidding so to speak....
Another caller accuses Gottfried of illegal recruiting with no credible source of course, typical Finebaum show.

Not long after the interview started, Ford got very defensive....he contradicted himself in that he said when Mark called him on a wed night and asked was he still in the running and Ford told him "yes". Then later on when Paul pressed him he said there were doubts.
He really got very defensive. Paul asked him did he lie.Ford said he talked to Woody Mcorvey and he said that he and Croom would look after him and make a 'man' out of him.
Paul asked him was he going there to play football and Ford said no. Paul wanted to know what Croom and Mcorvey had to do with a basketball player. He asked him how many games Miss St came to watch him play and he said "none".He asked him how many games Ala came to watch him and he said "5, thats all they're allowed".
Paul asked him didn't he find that a little strange, that Bama has recruited him for 3 years and watched him play, Miss St came in the 11th hour, didn't watch any games but he signed with them.
Say what you want to, but this particular time Paul asked the tough Questons.

Ford is a dumb ***. He keeps talking about radio shows and people's comments about Sharpe. Whoa, that's talk radio. People say things that are their opinion. If the kid and he can't deal with that then this kid will have a tough time in college.
I doubt Sharpe is really that aggrevated by the entire thing. What's happening is some people still think about Croom and what happened at Bama and relate it to every situation.
That's somewhat of a bed that Bama made for themselves and they will have to deal with it more and more. Truthfully though, there are some people that will use the media to vent their frustration. It's sad to use the kid's career as an avenue for warfare. It kinda reminds me of Albert Means a little bit.

Here is the archived interview. The most disconcerting thing about it to me besides the last minute change is the involvement of Coach Croom and his football staff in basketball recruiting.
Now the classic call was from "Edna", getting on Mr. Fineburg (her words).
-Accused Paul of being in on having the game between John Carroll and Parker fixed....'you said that ref would never call another game and he did...' Then Washburn (AHSAA) gets thrown in there as well
-'Ya'll crazy thinking Walter gone go to Tuscaloosa and sit the bench while that Ron Steele plays..... Ya'll say he (Steele) gone replace Pettway'
-'I told Walter not to go to Alabama, I'm glad he did not go'
What was hillarious is when somebody in the background let a whoot as to say boy you are laying it on him, and she stops for a moment to hear herself on the delay and then requests a copy of the tape so she can hear herself crawl him again.... one of the funniest calls ever, I wish he would put it up on his website along with the Maurice Ford interview (which is there)
Asked her relation to the situation, reply 'a big supporter of Parker High and none of your business anyway'
I'm curious as to her real relation, I think it might be a little closer.
As far as football coaches recriting for other sports, seems like I remember a Finebaum interview with Sarah Patterson and her commenting about Coach Bryant even talking to her gymnastics recruits and how UA was the place to be, etc. I don't find it odd, but what is odd is the last minute effort by MSU. Sounds to me like Edna had some spoonfeeding as far as some possible recruiting tactics (Edna is closer than she revealed IMO). IE, Walter on the bench while Ron plays, Ron the next Pettway, etc. Croom and McCorvey's involvement (both with UA ties) just adds fuel to the fire. There is no love lost from those guys, it'll get heated.
Our borders are surrounded, AU-East, UT-North, UF-South and now MSU-West, expect many battles on all fronts....

Do you think W. Ford had his hand out the whole time waiting for UA to bite and when they did not he simply spurned the Tide with an 'I'll show you' by helping steer Sharpe to MSU? MSU might have bitten then again they might have just reaped the benefits of the Tide not biting.

I find myself standing on the opposite side of the situation here. Quite frankly, Edna's call was sad. No other way to put it.
Here's the thing. I believe whole heartedly that Ford received money to steer Sharpe to MSU. There are simply to many reputable people who've discovered the who and how. BUT, the problem lies in the fact that the payment is being overlooked/covered up by the continuing race issues that have surrounded our state for decades...centuries.
Here we have someone getting away with breaking the NCAA rules and using race issues as a protection/sheild against others who bring it to light.
