And I have a bit of advice for all you Crimson Tide fans ... don't buy into Saban's crap. He's a "man" who will preach all of the strong sounding words such as "honor", "loyalty", "commitment", "principle", "overcoming adversity", "tradition", etc, etc, etc...
Yet - at the moment of truth, you'll find that he does not reflect these 'powerful' statements. Note his lies and falsehoods over the past 6 weeks. It's all a snow-job. And last I checked it doesn't snow in Alabama.
I know that Saban brings a 'air' of excitement wth him ... but that's only b/c he says things that fans (of teams that are down) want to hear. Trust me he's full of crap. And all of you are in for some gut-wrenching disappointment.
He did it to LSU (lied about not going anywhere), he did it to Miami (lied about not going anywhere) ... and in BOTH cases MOST (almost all) of the fans and supporters of each team believed him.
Thanks for your insight, now trot along back home and pout...

Bama's next.

We really do not care. What happened in the past is past. He is our Coach now and we are behind him 100%. Do not come on here talking smack about our Coach.
And all of you are in for some gut-wrenching disappointment.
Mal Moore won't give him that long, been there done that.

Interestingly, it seemed the louder the drumbeat grew from the national media, which almost in unison aimed its poison darts at Saban for his unseemly stream of denials, the more united and defiant Tide fans grew in support of their man
It shouldn't be considered smack if the man/woman is simply telling the man's history. I'm more excited about Saban than probably most people but I can't say that I'm not worried about how long Saban will be here (hoping for life). I wish things could have ended better in Miami for Coach Saban for the sake of all parties concerned. Let's be a little more hospitable to the Dolphins fans who want to come on here and state their honest/respectful opinions like werare to the Florida, UT and AU fans who do the same.
Thanks. Our eyes are wide open!
But your spiel sounds like sour grapes! As everyone has been telling Bama since the Bryant era. Get over it and move along.
1)Coaches are almost forced into this situation when considering another opportunity. I do believe that he had no official contact with UofA until probably a week before his hiring was announced. Prior to that, he was still trying to hold Miami together. Personally, I believe that the constant media attention on the Alabama job, which for more than a month was nothing but speculation with no official contacts made, actually contributed to his deciding to leave.
2)He no longer has the option of going back to the NFL. At least for several years, imo. The 2 years and out in Miami, the reasons he gave for coming back to college, and the way his wife/family feels about the pro game will all keep owners leary of him.
3)What college team could he go to? I know that we Alabama fans are considered delusional, obsessive, etc., but where do you go from Alabama that would be considered a significant step up? Mich St is just the little sister of Michigan so it's no suprise he left there. LSU is a good program, but this season marked the first time in their history they ever had back to back 10 win seasons. But Alabama is one of the top 5 programs/jobs in the country.
4)Imo, the fact that we fired M Shula, son of D Shula, Dolphins legend, and then hired current Dolphin coach N Saban has ALOT to do with all the negative press. I know I've heard CDS say some pretty negative things during all this. Had Saban been the Oakland coach, we wouldn't be hearing half of what we are about the issue.
5)Don't forget, we're Alabama. There were rumblings about firing Coach Bryant once upon a time. Coach Stallings won 10 games a year on average and a MNC and there were many glad to see him go because of his conservative offense. Saban is no more likely to bolt and run than we are likely to fire him.
