Saban quote from the recent Red Elephant Club meeting -

"i want ya'll to understand something. we've got some kids that weren't going to class. we've got others that weren't behaving. they are going to start going to class & they are going to start behaving or they are going to be gone. there are others that are not going to work that hard. they are going to be gone too. when we lose some kids now you will understand why."

Saban and his staff haven't had time to study each player on the current roster but it appears he is going to set the tone early with a no BS approach.

Re: S&C Update .

Having played a little football in my earlier years, I know that discipline goes a long ways towards making a good team.
Schula's weaknesses may surface now that there's a new coach in town. There may be more players leaving once spring practice kicks into high gear.

Re: S&C Update .

I for one am glad to see that players are not allowed to slack off. If the head coach doesn't enforce discipline and the required conditioning you can't expect the team to achieve success. It is so good to hear how tough things are going to be...it should be challenging...otherwise the players will not respect themselves or their teammates. When I was playing I remember the sense of pride and achievement I felt after winning my position. "What we obtain too cheeply we esteme too lightly"....not sure who said that but he was right on.

Amen to that. The days of busting you hump on every single play so you can win that starting position are back. Im glad that CNS is not giving them anything. Make earn every bit of it coach.

Re: S&C Update .

Tideas,

When people ask me why the school fired Shula, I say did you watch the '06 MSU game. I had been in denial for awhile until I saw that game. It is time to take accountability for everyone. Take pride in when holding up the 4 fingers we are going to finish this game off and make the other team regret ever playing us.

ROLL TIDE!!!!!
