This is a great pickup! This kid looks to have all the tools to excel on either side of the ball.
scouting report:
Evan Cardwell recorded 78 tackles, 18 tackles for losses and four sacks as a junior. He also competes on the hardwood as a prep basketball player.
Coach's Comments: "Evan is an outstanding worker and a great leader," said Head Coach Chris Balentine. "His hands are big and he's very explosive. Evan is quick off the ball and getting up and down the line of scrimmage. On offense, he is real good at finishing blocks."
Scouting Report: Evan Cardwell moves well enough that he could get his first look at defensive tackle. He will most likely project as an offensive lineman with very good athleticism for the positions of guard or center. Cardwell plays with a high intensity level and a desire to finish his blocks.
BASKETBALL! Are you kidding me this guy is a moster. 6'3; 300lbs; 5.0...Basketball! I'm not taking a charge from that guy.
ROLL TIDE!
You gotta love getting a big guy with the athleticism to play hoops too. Sounds like he has a mean streak and is a leader to boot.
