I just got home from the Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech game

Georgia Tech played ABSOLUTELY terrible. I don't ever leave a Bama game early if we are getting beat, but we had all we could take by the end of the third quarter. The only interesting thing about tonight was the halftime performance by Outkast

Re: I just got home from the Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech game

What's up with VT wearing a GT looking jersey?

Is there that much hatred between those two teams?

Outkast? Really? Well, I'd rather see them than GA Tech they way they've played lately.

Some of those turnovers were absolutely awful. GT should be playing better than that.

Re: I just got home from the Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech game

I forgot: ESPN showed an LSU fan holding a sign that had Bama with a red circle and a line through it.

I find that so funny. It's incredibly second rate.

Also: Sean Glennon had to wear a GT jersey because his was stolen/misplaced. They used a marker to write his name on the back and to black out the "Yellow Jackets" on the front. I had noticed something odd about his jersey when I flipped back and forth to it but didn't hear an explanation. I figured it was some weird Hokie tradition.

Yeah, I couldn't believe that Outkast showed up. It was funny to watch the older people in the crowd watch them.

It was a funny story. Somebody sneaked into the the VT locker room and stole the jerseys of 6 (or so) VT players unies. Including the QB and his backup. According to GT surveillance video no one got through the 3 locked doors reach the visitors locker room.

VT only had 2 spare jerseys, so GT took a few (several years old) jerseys and modified them for the VT players. They put the name on the back with thin sharpies and went so far to black out the "Russell" logo and put the Nike "swoosh" on them. Funny thing was, they got the swoosh backwards.

Some VT boosters were supposedly bringing replacement jerseys for the players, but I got board with the one sided game and never saw how that turned out.

Re: I just got home from the Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech game

I may have been a funny joke, except for the fact that VT has dealt with a lot of off field issues this year (particularly in the spring). I think it's pretty low class to pull something like that on a team like VT. I'm glad they turned around and showed Tech what they were about.

And we all thought GT was good when they opened up by stomping The Irish.

Re: I just got home from the Georgia Tech vs. Virginia Tech game

Whenever I happen to watch the Ramblin' Wreck..they seem to do just that..

I am truly grateful that somehow during the past 10 years of our humbling-stumbling quest to regain pigskin respectability, one Chan Gailey was never seriously considered as a HC candidate! I'm not really sure we would have ever completely recovered from his uncanny ability to produce mediocrity any time he's ever appeared to be on the brink of success..

When will Tech decide to stop the bleeding?? Maybe they could bring in favorite son Bill Curry in an advisory/motivational Guru role..

Chan will get them into a bowl game at 7-5, just like always. I guess that's good enough for them. I want to root for GaTech but Chan makes it hard.

I applaud your perserverance-I turned off the game before 2nd qtr. ended.
I completely agree with your opening sentence-GT was just a-w-f-u-l!

But I'm listening to 1998 Alabama vs LSU-and smiling! Great game; great comeback! Looking for a repeat Sat.!

Roll Tide!
