after watching the big12 title game last night, and realizing the number of starters they have coming back next year (they could loose a few to the draft, early), oklahoma will be my pre-season number one, not that my vote means squat.

I don't see why Oklahoma does not get more consideration for the national championship this year.
I mean, after all, they did just annihilate the unanimous number one team in the country, at a neutral site, by almost four touchdowns. And honestly the score could have been worse if Stoops had tried to run up the score late. To me they have just as much right as any of the two-loss teams to make a legitimate claim on the national championship game.
Either way, I agree about next year. I'm just glad that with so many top teams returning so much -- Oklahoma, Florida, etc. -- that we won't have this crap-fest again next year where a two-loss team makes the national championship game.
OU will be my preseason no. 1 pick as well in '08. Sam Bradford will win the Heisman before he is done there, and probably a national championship ring as well.

Because they don't lose Slaton and White and check their defensive stats, they will obviously surprise you.
You are correct.
Slaton, White, and Devine return, and the defense will be a bit better most likely. And let's be brutally honest, it's not like they have to beat-out any true, high quality teams to run the table against Big East competition.
Spot on, CB. But here's how the national media will have the pre-season top 5:
1. Ohio State
2. USC
3. WVU
4. Florida
5. Texas

Ah what could have been. We had our chances, didn't get it done. Last night was the first time since '03 that our D played lights out. I guess it's a lesson for a lot of teams, don't run your mouth.
