Thought this article might serve as a contrast to the doom and gloom that we've been reading lately. It won't get nearly the press coverage, but it's a much more pleasing read.
Edit: Sorry, just noticed the same letter was published in T-Town news a couple of months ago and was linked on here. I saw the June 25 date on this article and hadn't seen it posted since then so thought I was safe from a duplicate.

Re: Good Article on Ali Sharrief - (Much Needed Good News)
I didn't see it before ... that's a great story.

Ali took me aside and asked me if there were any boys that might respond to him coming and spending some quality time, just talking about problems, temptations and issues that they are facing growing up.

Very awesome story and it's something that Stephanie Godfrey really pushes for all of the UA athletes to do.

One classy young man.

Controversy = ratings and newspaper sales. Unfortunately, I don't see that changing any time soon. It's good to see that we have players doing good things in the community. My guess is that we have much more of them doing good things than we have doing bad things.
Re: Good Article on Ali Sharrief - (Much Needed Good News)
I live and work in the same part of the world as Ali is from, and I can tell you he comes by it honestly. His parents instilled the proper attitude, and values early on. Even though Ali & his family took Chris Keys in, and treated him as their own, and even though Ali & Chris were "like brothers" Ali still had the good judgment to recognize, then separate himself from Chris's bad behavior. He even went out of his way to try & guide Keys in the right direction, to no avail. That is character, pure & simple. We need a dozen more just like him. He will be an asset to anyone he is around, and is proving it with his actions!

Only way I could see that I could do my part was when I cancelled my subscription for the B'ham news. I had all the negativity I could stand. I would like to start a movement towards all Bama fans cancelling their B'ham news subscriptions until they fire their idiot sports writers with their slanted views. I've had all I can stand and I can't stand no more. Only when they show scarborough(or whatever his name is) the door will I ever read the b'ham news again.
