Alabama makes strong case for #1 spot IMO

OK OK OK I know we are still in the "process" but come on we are out scoring our opp. 37-13 on avg. We have pretty much dominated two top ten teams ON THE ROAD, out scored the opp something like 74-0 in the first, HAVE NOT trailed at any point in any game ALL SEASON!!!! I could go on and on but at this point in the season NOBODY is playing better than our Tide, NOBODY!!!!!

And we also have held a series of all-american running backs to under 40 yards rushing each game (James Davis, CJ Spiller, and Knowshon Moreno). No team in the top ten can say that. I am drinking the cool-aid..... this team is SPECIAL!!!

I felt the same in the 2nd quarter but , not for long . I feel like we're in the mix for 3rd with lsu . I think mizz might take 2nd even though they were off this weekend . I do believe the voting margins will be rather close though . We'll see

Re: Alabama makes strong case for #1 spot IMO

the only time I care about being ranked #1 is in January..

I would rather not be #1 right now..

EDIT***

I will say though.. Bama is BY FAR the most impressive team in college football thus far..

they SHOULD be #1.. but probably wont.. and that is ok with me!

who else has dominated two top 10 teams.. on the road..... who else?

I really don't want Bama to have that target yet, but if these young bucks are going to do it.
They gotta learn how to handle success soon or later, I suppose.......

Let's just keep it up, and keep the process going...

Re: Alabama makes strong case for #1 spot IMO

The only poll that matters is the last one, but right now I'd take us to win anywhere against anyone. OU and Mizzou haven't played a real team yet - their competition in-conference is bottom half SEC except UT, so they still won't play anybody. Still a lot of games left, though.

I couldn't care less what we're ranked right now. It's fun to speculate about, but the fact is this: We're in the SEC. Win your games and you'll play for the big prize.

Nobody has a better case for number 1 than Bama. Still, I don't want it now. I'd be happy at 3. Our team is young and who knows if they're ready for that type of pressure yet.

The great thing about this young team is that it will improve over the year.

Re: Alabama makes strong case for #1 spot IMO

This is something I posted on another board in response to a post re: the obstacles involved in a night game at LSU.

"Thru my Crimson-colored glasses, where we play, what time of day, what color jersey's etc, have no meaning. It's all about playing all 60 minutes of the game and bringing our best to every single down.

Some call it kool-aid, but I just call it good coaching. ::said in my best Forrest Gump voice:: lol "

Re: Alabama makes strong case for #1 spot IMO

The coaches sure don't think so. We have had the biggest discrepancy between the AP and the coaches poll of any team all year long. We won't now because we're in the red zone, but for most of the season it's been around 4 places.
